LEEHEEMOON AND PRELUDE

 In Gyeonggi Jazz Project <Korean Man>, Gyeonggi minyo singer Heemoon Lee and Korea's leading jazz band Prelude reinterpret traditional Gyeonggi minyo into Gyeonggi-jazz style. By rearranging ‘jabga,’ a challenging genre to perform which doesn’t have clear melodic structure, with Western music(jazz) vocabularies, they’re discovering a musical apparatus that portrays the sensibilities of jabga more clearly, bringing the evolution of Korean traditional vocal music forward.
