JOANA SERRAT is a singer-songwriter from Vic who from a very early age felt attracted by folk and rock of American roots. After a period living in Dublin, she began a self-searching that would bring her faithfully closer to her true self. This process concluded in the double album The Relief Sessions (self-published, 2012). Intimate and evocative, the work led her to be nominated as featured artist of the week in Noisetrade, an American website based in Nashville. Her second album, Dear Great Canyon (El Segell del Primavera , 2014), was produced by Howard Bilerman, a Canadian nominated for a Grammy for his production work on the début of Arcade Fire. Since then she has not stopped having hits; the album entered the AFYVE list of best-selling albums, "The Blizzard" was chosen as song of the week by the legendary British record shop Rough Trade, and her songs have started to sound regularly on Catalan and Spanish radio stations, on the English BBC 6, on BBC radio Scotland and Australian national radio.
