The opening theme of ZENZILE’s fifteenth album, "Scars" is a perfect summary of the proposal of the Angers septet: a cushion of keyboards paused with a lazy bass line, a sedimenting of constant groove, the vocals of Jamika (outrageously sexy, imposing silences), a captivating flute sounding in the background ... and bodies losing control. In short, dub music and much more. With the new album, Electric Soul, ZENZILE mirror themselves somehow in the past (the dub of Adrian Sherwood with On-U Sound a sort of “Jamaicanised” new wave) concurs with a relative present (the very best of Roots Manuva, for example) and also looks with insolence to the future (more than half of this new album would form part of a 'greatest hits' of the group).
